Survey for current and future consumers of data from the Metropolitan Police

The Metropolitan Police is working with the Open Data Institute (ODI) to develop an open data strategy, with the long term aim to be more transparent and in turn build trust and confidence. This survey is to help us to understand the needs of people who look for, access, and use information published by the Metropolitan Police. We’re interested in hearing from people who have used or intend to use data and information from the Metropolitan Police, whether that’s in a personal or professional capacity.

The responses to this survey will help guide the development of the open data strategy. By taking this survey, you consent to us using your feedback and suggestions for this purpose and agree that you will not be entitled to any compensation.

Responses can be submitted completely anonymously. The deadline for responses is Friday 27 May 2022. Responses will be held for up to 90 days after the survey deadline and individual responses will only be shared with members of the project team at the ODI and the Metropolitan Police.  If you have any questions about this survey, or this research project, please email mp-ods@theodi.

Data published by the MPS in the future as part of the open data strategy, which the results from this survey will help to inform will be aggreated and anonoymised in line with relevant data sharing legislation.  There is further information about data protection and how the two organisations manage data on the Metropolitan Police website and the ODI website.

Please note that if you’ve witnessed or been the victim of a crime, you cannot use this survey to report it. You can find information on how to report a crime on the Metropolitan Police website.
